How about a nice splash of colour? I love that nature can be so generous with its palette. And when it frames a favourite view its all the better. I love to make a frame between my hands and focus on a snapshot and pick out some colour. It can look a bit odd but sometimes you have to just be you in the world.
I’m so pleased with how this page turned out for a web assignment. Check me out!

When was the last time you shared a secret?
Choose a special friend and let them in on a special little something. It feels good to share and it can be a real weight off.
I have always loved the sound of breaking waves. That will forever be the sound of great holidays as a child. You have to love a sandy beach with a few rocks for interest – hidey holes for treasure or new little friends on the salty tide.
You know you’re overdue for a haircut when each day starts with a search for a clip / bobby pin / headband but your locks just won’t make a ponytail. And how is that feeling when you’ve just had all that great attention, you can feel your hair is healthy and shiny? Just like a celebrity. Only I’m a long way from mastering that perfect look in the face of rain. Or wind. Or traffic. Or …
You know that feeling when you’ve gotten well dirty? My garden is a work in progress so that is most days for me. How blissful is that nice warm shower at the end of it. Soap and suds everywhere, the more the better. And for a childhood revisit – loads of talc after drying off. Getting mucky doesn’t have to be the only fun bit.
When we get busy it can be difficult to make time to reflect and enjoy what we’re doing. So take a break, make a cuppa and take the time to really enjoy it. Or make a quick phone call and say hello to someone you’ve been thinking about. Or enjoy a piece of fruit – from its smell to its taste to the very last bite.
I’ve decided to give in to my love of trees. Abandon myself to it. I don’t mean I’m going to start handing out leaflets on street corners but I am going to make this open declaration. It’s love. You know when you visit one of those beautiful parks or gardens and you just see one of those unassuming trees just next to the path ahead. Sort of standing there all tall, dark and handsome. My current obsession seems to centre around these from the fir family – can just imagine them with a dusting of snow or releasing their piney fresh scent after warming up in the sunshine. Gorgeous.
Don’t you just love that feeling of the smooth bark of a tree or the feel of a stone wall which has soaked up the afternoon sun? It’s wonderful to get up close to nature and feel the difference in texture and temperature through touch, The way it provides a more intimate connection than just watching it all pass by.
