I was standing sorting through buttons at the front of my favourite haberdashery shop the other day when a car pulled up out front. Out came a weary looking Mum followed by a troop of kids. As the little one came round the back of the car she was calling out ‘I’m in the front on the way back’ to no one in particular. It just reminded me of the exact thing we’d say as kids – the way you’d bag certain options or privileges. Cause you have the faith that just saying it will make it so at that age too.
Shuffling through my tunes today came up with a bit of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. With the light notes of Spring came back the memory of a wonderful classical concert shared with a friend one evening in Canberra. It reminds me that without music my days would have less colour, but without friendships my days would surely have less reason.
